Just a quick word to let you know I found 'The Europeans' from Orlando Figes simply brilliant.
I've read two other books that are great companions to this one - or you could say that 'The Europeans' is a great companion to the others. I don't want to put one before the other.
Anyway, I'm talking about 'The man in the red coat' by Julian Barnes, and 'The Vertigo Years' by Philipp Blom.
All tremendously interesting and good reads.
I will bother you with more in weeks to come.
